The
2007 Master Gardener Plant Sale, the annual fundraising
event that supports the Forsyth County Master Gardener
program, will be held Friday and Saturday, Sept. 21-22,
at the Ag Building. The sale is short but very busy,
and we need many volunteers to help with various aspects
of organizing and keeping things running smoothly.
Here is the volunteer schedule:
Thursday,
Sept. 20—Receiving and sorting .
Volunteers needed to unload incoming plant donations
and sort them according to category. Some lifting.
Two shifts, 10 a.m.-1 p.m. and 1–4 p.m.
Friday
morning, Sept. 21—Final set-up and
pricing . Volunteers needed to check that plants
have been properly organized by category and to price
everything. One shift, 8 a.m. – noon .
Friday
afternoon—Sales. If you enjoy talking
about plants (And what MGV doesn’t?) you can
sell them! Volunteers will help customers select plants
to suit their needs. Practical experience with herbaceous
perennials and/or ornamental woody plants—the
categories that always make up the bulk of our inventory—is
very helpful. Some customers may need help loading
their purchases in their vehicles. Two shifts, noon–3
p.m. and 3-6 p.m.
Saturday,
Sept. 22—Sales. Same
as above. One shift, 8 – noon .
We’d
like to have a half-dozen people on each shift, possibly
more on Friday morning. If you can help, please call
Linda
Dunn, 703-2850, to sign up. Thanks!
